The Library Café is a cozy spot nestled inside Champaign’s main library at 200 W Green St, offering a relaxed setting that naturally blends with the quieter atmosphere of the library. It serves as a convenient pause for readers, students, and local residents who want a quick yet varied selection of drinks and snacks without straying far from their studies or browsing.

Unlike the typical coffee shop bustles, this café benefits from a calm, almost studious vibe, where you’re just as likely to see someone gearing up for a study session or catching up on emails as you are a parent keeping an eye on kids in the nearby play area. The presence of a dedicated kids’ space nearby adds to its appeal for local families.

The drink options here lean toward practicality and variety, featuring fresh fruit, multiple coffee choices, and a freezer stocked with bottled waters, sodas, and sweets — a nice touch for those looking for either a healthy snack or a treat. Prices tend to be lower than what you might expect at a standalone coffee shop in town, which makes it a smart stop for anyone mindful of their budget.

Cleanliness and speed of service come up often in user experiences, supporting a smooth, no-fuss visit. Bringing along a reusable tumbler is rewarded with a discount, which fits well with the eco-conscious crowd the library draws. Since it’s inside the library, drinks must be kept covered if you plan to wander, a reminder that this café functions primarily as a complement to the library space rather than a typical social hangout.

The best time to visit is during library hours when the quiet hum of pages turning mixes with the occasional chatter over coffee. Students and locals who want a peaceful spot to work or relax without the usual café distractions will find this place serves that niche well. It’s less about lingering over a leisurely brunch and more about a practical, pleasant fuel-up between library stacks.

The Cafe has many things to offer,I don't normally purchase but there's alot to chose from. They got fresh fruit, they have a variety of drinks, even types of coffee. They have like a freezer with anything from water to certain soda drinks. They sale sweets to, its ideal if u want a snack or something healthy just remember to keep a lid on your drink if u want to walk around the library, they have rules and laws u have to go by like any places else.

Cool cafe in the library, coffee drinks, sodas, food/pastries, all at reasonable prices, much less than a typical coffee shop would charge.

Love the library cafe. Teas and coffees have always been good. Service is always friendly and speedy. Since it's in the library the atmosphere is also great.

Everyone in the library is nice, and the workers give you generous portions. The price is great for what you get. Worker filled the smoothie to the brim.

I didn't eat but the Cafe breve was perfect. Service was prompt and friendly. I sat and worked on a project while people came and went . Perfect for me. If you want less activity there is a quiet study room. It is very active in the afternoon after Edison lets out.
